Independence Family and Cosmetic Dentistry
If you feel defeated the moment you realize most cosmetic treatments will not address your teeth’s aesthetic concerns, it is time for a quick pep talk. Perhaps teeth whitening alone is simply not enough. Or, maybe you begin worrying you will need to become a regular visitor to our practice to even approach a satisfactory smile. Fortunately, porcelain veneers may offer you a surprisingly wonderful solution. If you desire a dramatically more beautiful smile, schedule a consultation with Dr. Roberson to discuss your goals and whether veneers can help.
To improve the beauty of your smile, we often suggest porcelain veneers. This cosmetic treatment includes extremely thin, custom-made ceramic shells crafted out of layers of porcelain. The shell fits directly over your existing tooth.
Traditional veneers, like natural teeth, offer a translucent finish.
Your natural teeth will gently shine through, so your smile continues to appear natural – just greatly improved.
Veneers offer patients a way to improve a wide array of teeth imperfections. If you feel unhappy with the appearance of your smile, veneers can quickly offer a customized smile makeover that seemingly erases years of wear and tear, staining, or mild misalignment issues, without resorting to several treatments. Look over the following advantages of choosing veneers if you are considering making them a part of your life:
Porcelain veneers adhere to natural teeth. For patients with healthy natural teeth, we will examine your teeth to verify your candidacy for this treatment. Our team will then take impressions of your top and bottom teeth. We will send the impressions to a lab where a master ceramicist will create custom-fitted veneers according to our specifications. When you return to our office for the fitting, Dr. Roberson may first prepare your tooth by removing an extremely minimal amount of its outermost layer of tissue, called enamel. He will then bond the veneer permanently to each tooth, for a beautiful finish.
However, we cannot use veneers on prosthetics, such as dental crowns. If you have implants or bridges – particularly if they are highly visible
Dr. Roberson will need to discuss alternative options for improving the appearance of your teeth.
